Yay! Another surprise Stark family reunion! That ended in one of them callously reminding the other about her violent rape and TV Movie Archivesdomestic abuse in their childhood home?
Okay, well, that's not exactly how we imagined things would go. Actually, I think Bran and Sansa's frigid reunion would be enough to make even a White Walker shiver.
SEE ALSO: Bran from 'Game of Thrones' says Stark family reunion will be 'disappointing'But never fear, because Reddit theories are here to try and explain Bran's inexcusable dick move. (And no, it's not because he's been dropping loads of acid and is, like, super into the Grateful Dead now.)
Here's captainkittencrunchon why Bran could be keeping his emotional distance:
I've seen a lot of comments criticizing Bran staring while Sansa embraced him and overall seeming detached when speaking with her.
I'm a little surprised I'm not seeing more people think about what could be behind that. He knows the past and he knows what's going to happen ... there's a good chance that Sansa is going to do something really awful and he knows he's powerless to prevent it. Mixing that with his first family reunion in the show could certainly cause some neutral stares in my opinion.
If we take this theory a step further, their dialogue throughout the Weirwood scene provides more hints that Bran knows information about his sister's future that we're not privy to just yet. Or, at the very least, might explain some of the tension in their clearly strained relationship.

For example, when Sansa muses that she wishes Jon was here, too, Bran delivers the understatement of the year: "Yes, I need to speak to him." Indeed you do, Brandon! We wish you'd speak to just about anyone about that dragon-sized bombshell of information you're sitting on.
But the better question here is: Why didn't Bran even tryto tell Sansa about the cold hard fact that Jon's not just a Stark, but also a Targaryen? I get that it's "hard" and "complicated," but he's clearly ready to say it to Jon. So why not Sansa?
There's also another relevant, more pressing fun fact that Bran forgot to mention to his sister: the creepy mustachioed man who keeps asking to marry her also betrayed their father and led to the destruction of the entire Stark family.
Also, as an all-knowing tree dude, Bran mustknow about the ongoing disagreements between Sansa and Jon. The only time he actually shows even a hint of emotion comes in response to Sansa's declaration that, "You're father's last living true-born son. You're Lord of Winterfell now."
Well, whoa there. Way to throw Jon -- the brother you swore to trust last season, and who left you in charge of Winterfell because of that trust -- immediately under the bus without a second thought, Sansa.
Bran's response is as close to indignant as this new, groovy, Three-Eyed Raven version of him gets. "I can never be Lord of Winterfell."
With all the talk of Sansa's telling stylistic choices, and people wondering just how much influence Littlefinger still has over her, there's enough of a case to cast doubt on her longterm morality.

At the same time, we wouldn't blame Sansa for turning her back on the Stark men, who have proven incredibly difficult in their own way. When we talked to Sophie Turner, the actress who portrays the fiery-haired Stark, about her character's upcoming conflicts at the Season 7 premiere, she gave a telling answer.
"She finally reclaimed Winterfell. with the help of Littlefinger. But now she's still not getting the respect she deserves, even after everything she's been through. Patriarchy is still playing such a huge part in her life and she's kind of frustrated at [both Jon and Littlefinger], and wondering why she needs men to justify her power."
You're preaching to the choir, girl.
Whether or not Bran knows about some future transgression Sansa has yet to commit, her brother's casual reference to her rape could not have helped her misgivings about men.
And we're kind of right there with her. Patriarchy isbullshit. And this last episode we saw Sansa totally slaying it with the little amount of power she's ever been given. So maybe Sansa will wind up going slightly evil.
Or maybe, just maybe, we'll see a Queen of the North.
