The wrong Kyle Chalmers people have been tweeting at is actually a 19-year-old trainee radio communication technician from Glasgow in Scotland, who is having fun at the mistake.
"I will lap it all up while it goes on, I'm always up for a laugh ... so waking up to 2,000 notifications was a bit of a surprise but reading the tweets I shared a chuckle, so yeah it's all good here," Chalmers told Mashable Australiavia Twitter.
In case you're wondering, the real swimming Kyle Chalmers doesn't appear to have a Twitter account. You could leave a message on his Instagram account, however.
