The Vision Pro headset has been announced during Apple's WWDC in June 2023. It's Apple's first true step into the virtual/augmented reality space, and while it is pricy, it does come with hardware that's ahead of other headsets, including two micro-OLED displays with a total of 23 million pixels, Apple's M2 chip inside, a new chip called R1 that processes the input from the headset's 12 cameras, and a new eye-scanning system, called Optic ID, that takes care of security.

The Vision Pro runs on an entirely new platform called VisionOS, and will have a multitude of apps and games ready at launch.
