It should come as no surprise that Peter Dinklage chose fire over ice after playing Tyrion Lannister025 ArchivesGame of Thrones. His character joined forces with dragon queen Daenerys two seasons ago, and now Dinklage is channeling the power of fire for a Doritos ad to air during Sunday's Super Bowl.
"I guess I can't escape it at this point," Dinklage told Mashable via phone interview. "It's following me around."

"Morgan Freeman, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot – I enjoy working with people like that. I have nothing but respect for those guys, especially Morgan Freeman," Dinklage explained. "Being an actor, he is one of the great icons. So just to be involved in a shoot like this with a person like that is incredible. It's an honor."

He may be brushing fire off his shoulder in the ad, but don't expect Dinklage to comment on your fan theories about Tyrion being a secret Targaryen. Dinklage loves and respects fan theories, but the Thronesteam won't even divulge show secrets to their families.
"That's the fun part," he said. "Everybody has to wait just like everybody else – family, friends. We live in a world of spoilers and we keep it quiet. We're really good at this point."
"Fans are a great resource for material. They know more about it than I do almost. But it's fun to see them speculate, especially early on when we're just getting started. It's great, it means everybody's really engaged in the show."
Dinklage filmed the spot in London on a day off from filming ThronesSeason 8 in Northern Ireland, and the Doritos team was happy to accommodate his production schedule. All he had to do was – casually – memorize Busta's rap in "Look at Me Now," know it "backwards and forwards," and perform it with the requisite swagger.
"I had probably one of the fastest tracks in the history of rap, so I think I should get a lot of credit for that, ahem," he said.
As for Thrones, Dinklage wasn't kidding about that secrecy, but he did share a few thoughts on reading the final episodes.
"It was heartbreaking and the end of an era," Dinklage said.
Dinklage's commercial airs during Sunday's Super Bowl, and Game of Thronesreturns in 2019.
