【Three Female Ghosts】
This is Three Female GhostsOne Good Thing, a weekly column where we tell you about the only nice thing that happened on theinternetthis week.
A lot of great movies are still slated to come out this year, but there's one that stands out from them all: Bohemian Rhapsody. Despite the drama on set, the trailers have been thrilling, Queen's timeless music is (as always) flawless, and by the looks of it, Rami Malek seems to make an impeccable Freddie Mercury.
SEE ALSO: Spectacular 'Bohemian Rhapsody' trailer will rock youThere's only one problem. We still have to endure monthsbefore the Mercury biopic hits theaters in November. So what does one do in the meantime? While you wait, take some time to enjoy this fun video courtesy of YouTuber Hobson:
For the video -- which was uploaded to YouTube back on June 26, but exploded on Reddit this week -- Hobson used MIDI in Garageband to create a cover of the Queen song "Bohemian Rhapsody."
But the real magic happens onscreen. If you're paying attention, you'll notice that the notes are all layered in a precise order that spells out the song's title.
The letters get larger as the song continues, but throughout it all you'll be able to recognize the tune. Of course, there are considerable differences between this track and the one Queen released in 1975. But the ~spirit~ remains, and honestly, that might be all that matters.
"I don’t know how you managed to pull this off and still make it sound musical," wrote Redditor ouch-my-head-hurts. "I would’ve gotten a headache trying to do something like this."
Overall, it's a testament to what a beautiful song "Bohemian Rhapsody" is. While this cover might be the most unique version floating around on the internet, pretty much everyone's tried their hand at a cover — from Pentatonix to Panic! At The Disco for the 2016 film Suicide Squad.
While MIDI art is nothing new, this is a fresh take on the concept.
But just to refresh your memory, here's the original in all its splendor:
