Samsung has been ordered to pay Apple Inc. $539 million in damages,History Movies | Adult Movies Online following a seven-year clash over patents which ended in a retrial.
As reported by Bloomberg, Apple sought $1 billion in the retrial, an amount it was awarded back in 2012 over several patent infringements relating to the iPhone.

The damages were decided by jurors at a federal court in San Jose, California on Thursday, who were figuring out if Samsung should pay damages based on its smartphone sales, or just components that infringed on Apple's patents.
It had already been determined that Samsung infringed on two of Apple's utility patents and three of its design patents, the latter of which included the rounded corners of its iPhones, the rim that surrounds the front face, and the grid of icons on the screen.
"Today's decision flies in the face of a unanimous Supreme Court ruling in favor of Samsung on the scope of design patent damages," Samsung said in a statement online.
"We will consider all options to obtain an outcome that does not hinder creativity and fair competition for all companies and consumers."
Apple said in a statement to Mashable that the case "has always been about more than money."
"We believe deeply in the value of design, and our teams work tirelessly to create innovative products that delight our customers ... Apple ignited the smartphone revolution with iPhone and it is a fact that Samsung blatantly copied our design. It is important that we continue to protect the hard work and innovation of so many people at Apple," the statement added.
"We're grateful to the jury for their service and pleased they agree that Samsung should pay for copying our products."
The long and complex case has been ongoing since 2011, when Apple originally sought $2.5 billion over patent infringements. Now with the retrial decided, the saga might just be over, once and for all.
