A GIF of the iconic moment has been around for a while, and was shared by many confuddled individuals. Even within one of my own group chats, you can see an appropriate example of this applied mood (not remembering a traumatic moment.)

But it wasn't until Twitter user @ARIE77E set the clip to the soundtrack for the pre-Midsommar horrorsmash, Hereditary, that the meme became truly iconic. That extra eerie quality of the music really adds a whole new level of dissociation.
