【the inherent eroticism of the corndog】
In the midst of Chris-mas in July, the inherent eroticism of the corndog on the very day Americans celebrate Independence (and inhale an exorbitant amount of hotdogs), Captain America is celebrating 100 years of fighting the good fight.
The patriotic Marvel supersoldier also known as Steve Rogers was honored by his onscreen representative, Chris Evans, on Thursday.

"I love this country and I'm proud of how far we've come. Be safe today!" he wrote. "Also, Happy Birthday to a very good friend of mine. I hear 100 is the new 20."

So, is July 4 actually Captain America's birthday? If you're going by the comic, as ScreenRant points out, Steve Rogers' birthday is mentioned in The Adventures of Captain America #1as July 4, 1917. This means our Cap would technically be 101 today.
Of course, as the publisher points out, Steve Rogers is technically only 32 years old — remember, he was frozen at 25 years old in 1943, and was reanimated in 2011.

But if, like Avengersstar Evans, you're going by the Marvel Cinematic Universe, EW points out that there's a scene in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger where you can spy Steve Rogers' birthdate listed as July 4, 1918 on his Certificate of Acceptability when he's signing up for the army. So, MCU-wise, that's 100 years from today.
Folks are celebrating with the Cap on Twitter too.

Look, after everything that went down in Avengers: Infinity War, the Cap's probably not going to be up for much of a hootenanny. So, while we're picking up the slack and celebrating 100 years of the Cap, think, does this make Evans the best Chris? You'll just have to try this bracket on for size.
