Chinese self-driving startup WeRide announced Thursday that its fully automated robo-bus shuttle service will begin operations in the first quarter of 2025 at Zurich Airport,USA Archives in partnership with Flughafen Zürich AG, the owner and operator of the airport, and Swiss Transit Lab (STL). This marks the first commercial autonomous bus shuttle project within an airport in Europe. WeRide’s self-driving taxis have also completed route mapping at Zurich Airport in preparation for additional applications in Switzerland, the company said in a statement.
