Zhuoyu Technology, a Shenzhen-based auto tech firm controlled by DJI, has made a wholly-owned subsidiary of BYD one of its shareholders, with the latter holding a 3.95% stake in the company’s registered capital totalling RMB 73.1 million ($10.1 million), according to information on the enterprise database site Tianyancha. BYD had expressed interest in investing in DJI’s automotive business unit early this year, as part of its plan to roll out assisted driving functions in 2025 for future models costing RMB 200,000 or below, with assistance from the tech unicorn, TechNode reported.
